Plugin – Changes not showing up? Clear your cache with Wordfence

You’ve made changes to your website, but when you look at your website online, it appears as if nothing has been changed? Most of the time, this will mean that you have not cleared your cache.

A web cache is a mechanism that temporarily stores your website data, including pages and images to increase the speed of your website and reduce bandwidth usage. This means that if you make a change on your website, the cache may still be storing the previous information before you made the change, so you need to clear out the cache after making changes.


  1. Your website may have a plugin called Wordfence, which keeps your website secure and also has a powerful cache that speeds up your website loading time. You will need to get to the Wordfence cache settings in order to clear it, this can be found by clicking on the ‘Wordfence’ menu item from your WordPress Dashboard, and selecting ‘Performance Setup’.
  2. Once you are in the Performance Setup area, find the ‘Cache Management’ heading, and simply click on the blue button labelled ‘Clear the Cache’.
  3. A little window will pop up saying ‘Page Cache Cleared’ and will let you know how many saved files were removed to clear the cache. Now all you need to do is click on the little ‘x’ in the bottom right corner of the box to close it, and your cache is all cleared!Refresh your website page in your browser and your changes should now show up, cache solved!
